Skally Line at The Aster Cafe, 1/22/15
I’m going to make a concerted effort to blog regularly. I know, I’ve said that before, but this time I REALLY–ah, well. The proof of the pudding is in the eating. I will do my best to live up to my own expectations.
I wanted to get a couple videos up and figured I may as well say a little something about the show the videos came from. On Thursday, January 22nd, the Skally Line pulled into the Aster Cafe in its debut performance there. I know it was a “school night” so it was tough for folks to get down there for a 9-11 p.m. show but we brought out a good crowd, and those of you who did come stayed the whole time. Thanks a lot for that! You give us a great chance to get invited back.
To that end, you could all be of huge assistance to us. If you have 2 seconds to help out your favorite old time band, drop The Aster a note at: firstname.lastname@example.org or 612.379.3138 and tell them you would love to see The Skally Line come back to that wonderful stage.
Tom and I sure had a blast. We worked hard adding a couple new songs and making sure the engine was greased and all the chrome polished. I think you’ll enjoy hearing a taste of it again. And if you weren’t there, this is what you missed. Come on out to the next show.
…and one more track for good measure, to get you thinking about slinky growing things while the ground slumbers through this winter
I’ll be back soon, so stay tuned and I’ll see you on down the line.
